About editormeri ...
I grew up in New York City and graduated from CCNY (City College of New York) with a BA degree in English Literature. My first job in publishing was as a Managing Editor for The Sterling Group of monthly entertainment magazines on the island of Manhattan. When I relocated to Vermont, I worked for the Gannett newspaper group as a proofreader for the Burlington Free Press until photon computers came along and eliminated the position. I also co-founded a community newspaper in the Green Mountain State. Between that time and settling in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1981, I also lived in Arizona and Florida. California introduced me to the A&E (architecture & engineering) industry where I have worked primarily as a technical editor. Since attending CCA (California College of the Arts) and earning a BFA with Distinction in painting, I have been based in Oakland. Besides assisting people to sharpen their writing, painting is my other passion. I invite you to view my artwork at www.micameri.weebly.com.
When not engaged in these two pursuits, I hike, dance, meditate, and travel. I have been a freelance editor since 2007 when I established editormeri and am also a member of Bay Area Editors' Forum.
